Starting in Chișinău, we head south, crossing vineyards and traditional villages, until we reach Comrat, the capital of Gagauzia. Here, we’ll visit the Saint John the Baptist Church, an important religious monument, and take a stroll through the city center, where we’ll see historic buildings and learn about the cultural influences in the region. Our next stop is Beșalma, a village rich in history and culture. Here, we’ll visit the National Museum of Gagauz, which houses traditional costumes, tools, and historical documents. We’ll also watch documentaries about the history and migration of the Gagauz people. The last stop is Kongaz, one of the largest Gagauz villages, where we’ll visit the Saint John the Baptist Church and admire the traditional rural architecture. The tour concludes with a visit to Gagauz Sofrasi, a restaurant-museum famous for its Gagauz cuisine, where we’ll taste local dishes like kurban (mutton stew), cheese-filled pies, and local wines.
